Maternal & Child Health
At Crook County Health Department, we believe that healthy communities begin with healthy pregnancies, children, and families. We offer the following programs to support the health of mothers, infants, and children, including children with special health needs and their families.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding during COVID-19
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) does not know if pregnant individuals are at higher risk, what they do know is that people who are pregnant can still test positive and spread COVID-19. Pregnant people should still practice physical distancing, good hygiene, clean and disinfect surfaces that are frequently touched, and avoid people who are sick or have been exposed to COVID-19.
If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, and/or have infants and children the following resources may be helpful:
- CDC: Pregnancy and Breastfeeding During COVID-19
- CDC: COVID-19 Vaccines While Breastfeeding or Pregnant
- Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine: Statement on COVID-19
- Infant and Young Child Feeding in Emergencies, including COVID-19
We understand this is a stressful time. It is normal to feel anxious. Everyone reacts to stress differently. If you, a friend, or a loved one need extra support during this time please utilize the following resources:
