Visitation

Inmate visitation is conduction by video visitation every day of the week. Visitation times vary from 6:00 AM to 9:45 PM. Visitation is based on housing units and classification. All visitors must submit a visitation application through smartjailmail.com. If approved, the person in-custody will send a visit invitation to the visitor to accept. Otherwise, visits may be scheduled on the incarcerated person’s day use time.

In order to schedule a visit with a Crook County inmate, the visitor must submit their driver's license for identification purposes with their visitation application. The visitation rules are as follows:

  1. Visit applicants must upload a readable picture of their photo ID with their visitation application.
  2. Inmates may only have two visits per week. Visits are in 15 minute sessions at this time.
  3. Inmates may only visit during their day use time after they have been in custody for seven (7) days and are not on disciplinary restrictions.
  4. Visitors must be present when a lobby visit is scheduled or they will forfeit that visit. Visits scheduled outside of the inmate’s day use time will not be honored.
  5. Only two approved visitors will be allowed to visit simultaneously.
  6. Any visitor who causes a disturbance during the visit or while waiting in the lobby will be asked to leave. Their visit will be forfeited.
  7. No food drink, or tobacco products are allowed in the Sheriff’s Office Lobby.
  8. No unattended property will be allowed in the lobby.
  9. Items a visitor may try to give Sheriff’s Office staff for inmates will not be accepted.
  10. Inappropriate behavior (sexually explicit, obscene, violent/aggressive, etc.) will not be tolerated.

**Violation of the above rules may result in the banning of the visitor from any future visits**

  6. Minors (under 18 years old) who are not the biological child of the inmate. A birth certificate and/or adoption paperwork must be submitted with the visitation application as proof.
