Impounded Vehicles
If your vehicle is impounded by the Crook County Sheriff’s Office, before paying the tow & storage bill and picking up your vehicle from the tow company, you will need to get an Impound Release Form in person at the Sheriff’s Office by providing:
- Proof of ownership
*Please Note: If you are not the legally registered owner of the vehicle, you must show proof of ownership as follows:
A signed off and dated title, dated no longer than 30 days prior to the request for release
If longer than 30 days, a DMV notice of transaction, or
A bill of sale that has been notarized, or
A bill of sale on car lot business letterhead
- A driver with a valid Driver’s License
- Proof of current insurance (This document should include the impounded vehicle’s vehicle identification number, policy number, expiration date, insurance company’s name and phone number for verification purposes).
- $100 cash
If you do not have these 4 items, we will not release your vehicle.
NOTE: Release forms are only available Monday-Friday (except holidays) from 9 AM- 5 PM
