Juniper Canyon Access Survey

Juniper Canyon Access Project

Crook County is growing and development in Juniper Canyon is growing, too.  It’s hard to believe that more than 2,000 households use Juniper Canyon Road to get to school, work, and shopping.  There are enough potential homesites in the area for another 2,000 houses and we expect increased traffic as a result.  Juniper Canyon residents have raised concerns and Crook County is interested in exploring options for a secondary road to increase safety, manage traffic congestion, and decrease traffic through downtown Prineville.

Crook County is continuing to explore the option of a second access for Juniper Canyon. The survey results indicated there is an interest and next steps are going to include public meetings to further gauge interest and funding opportunities.

The first meeting has been set for October 19th at the Crook County Library. For details on the meeting click here: https://co.crook.or.us/commdev/page/juniper-canyon-access-community-meeting
