Elected Position Information

County Elected Positions

Board of Commissioners (3 Commissioners), Sheriff, Clerk, Treasurer, Assessor and Surveyor are the Crook County Elected Offices.  Anyone interested in filing for any of these positions should contact the Crook County Clerk's Office located in room 23 of the Crook County Courthouse, 300 NE Third Street in Prineville.

The Crook County District Attorney and Circuit Court judicial offices are also elected offices. Those interested in filing as a candidate for either of these positions would file with the Oregon Secretary of State's Office.


City Council

The elected offices for the City of Prineville are Mayor and City Council Members. 

The filing office for City Candidates is the City of Prineville, phone 541-447-5627.

They can help you learn more about the duties and responsibilities of serving on City Council or as Mayor, and tell you what positions will appear on the next election ballot. 

City Candidates will file the necessary paperwork with the City of Prineville.

Precinct Committee Person

Each voting Precinct in Crook County has a set number of Precinct Committee Persons for each of the major parties (Democrat and Republican). It is recommended that you contact your local party organization if you are interested in information and responsibilities of a Precinct Committee Person.  The Crook County Clerk's Office is the filing office for these positions.
