Marriage License Application Rules and Regulations

Complete the marriage application online (or call if you do not have access to our website), then contact our office to arrange payment.  Your marriage license will be mailed to you in a packet with full instructions.

Marriage License fee is $60.

You must be 18 years of age or older to obtain a license without the consent of a parent or guardian. Persons 17 years of age may obtain a marriage license by either presenting a notarized consent form. Please contact the Clerk's Office for more details and options.  No one under 17 years of age is allowed to be married in Oregon - there are no exceptions.

There is a three-day waiting period before the license becomes valid and the couple can get married. This waiting period begins the day you purchase the license.  The waiting period can be waived for medical, military, or out-of-state residency reasons. The determination for the acceptance or rejection of waiver requests is made by the County Clerk.

Once the license becomes effective you have 60 days to have the ceremony performed anywhere in Oregon.
