NOTICE OF PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING

 

Notice is hereby given that the Crook County Planning Commission will hold a public meeting at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, to consider the following:

Public Hearing: Continuation for Record Number 217-25-000081-PLNG: info below.

Work Session: Transportation Safety Action Plan (TSAP) update and potential code updates on definitions for and related to “dwelling unit” and habitable space in accessory structures.

Record Number 217-25-000081-PLNG: Conditional Use. Weston’s Rock Ridge Ranch LLC and Philip Weston (Owner/Applicant) request a conditional use for a private use airstrip. The proposed private airstrip would be located at 7837 NW Lone Pine Ln, Terrebonne, identified as 1414070000203.  The hearing is being held pursuant to Crook County Code (CCC) 18.172 Administration Provisions. The application is subject to review under CCC, Title 18, Chapter 16, Chapter 160, the Crook County Comprehensive Plan, Oregon Administrative Rules, and Oregon Revised Statutes.

 

A notice of public hearing and location maps were mailed to all affected property owners, and to the appropriate entities and public agencies at least 10 days prior to the initial evidentiary hearing. A copy of the staff reports will be available at https://co.crook.or.us/planning-commission seven days prior to the hearing at no cost.

 

The hearings will be conducted pursuant to CCC 18.172.081. Interested members of the public may provide oral testimony in favor, opposed, or neutral to the applications. Written testimony or comments may be submitted to the Crook County Community Development Department by email at plan@crookcountyor.gov and may also be submitted in person or by mail to 300 NE 3rd St, Room 12, Prineville, OR 97754. Written testimony received by Friday, October 17, 2025, will be considered by staff prior to the issuance of the staff report and recommendation on this application. However, written testimony will continue to be accepted until the record closes, which may occur as soon as the conclusion of the public hearing.

 

A copy of the staff report will be available at https://co.crook.or.us/planning-commission seven days prior to the hearing at no cost.  A copy of the application, all documents, and evidence relied upon by the applicant along with the applicable criteria are available for inspection at no cost and copies will be provided at reasonable cost in accordance with the County’s fee schedule. Failure to raise an issue in the hearing, in person or by letter, or failure to provide sufficient specificity to afford the decision maker an opportunity to respond to the issue precludes an appeal to the Land Use Board of Appeals based on that issue.
