Press Release: Belknap Exhibit Center, Bowman Museum Presents Quilt Exhibit “Soul of the Land” by June Jaeger February 3 - March 21, 2026

Prineville, OR – The Belknap Exhibit Center at the Bowman Museum is pleased to announce a special quilt and textile art exhibit featuring renowned Oregon artist June Jaeger, on display from February 3 through March 21, 2026. This inviting and inspiring exhibition, titled Soul of the Land, celebrates the deep connection between art, nature, and the stories of Central Oregon.

June Jaeger is a fifth-generation Oregonian, born in Prineville and raised in Redmond. Surrounded by the region’s sweeping landscapes, wildlife, and wide-open spaces, Jaeger has drawn lifelong inspiration from the natural beauty of her home. Her long relationship with horses and the outdoors strongly influences her work as a pattern designer, painter, quilter, and author of two books.

Working primarily by hand, Jaeger continues to draw and design without the use of computers, valuing the personal connection and authenticity of traditional techniques. Her work has been exhibited in national and international shows, as well as regional galleries, earning numerous awards along the way.

In addition to her artistic practice, Jaeger has dedicated 45 years to teaching textile arts, sharing her passion and knowledge with students of all levels. She finds joy and inspiration in watching her students succeed, and her constant creation of new classes has made the idea of retirement happily elusive.

Visitors to the exhibit can expect richly detailed quilts and textile pieces that reflect the spirit, rhythm, and soul of the land we call home. The Belknap Exhibit Center warmly invites the community and visitors alike to experience this beautiful and meaningful exhibition.
