Oregon Department of Agriculture - Listening Session - Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at 6 pm

Tuesday, August 26, 2025 - 6:00pm

Oregon Department of Agriculture will hold a listening session on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at 6:00 pm at the Crook County 4-H Clover Building, located at 502 SE Lynn Blvd., Prineville, OR 97754. One or more Crook County Commissioners may be in attendance. The purpose of this listening session is to hear from Central Oregon ranchers about the recent passage of Senate Bill 777 and the new rulemaking that will follow. SB777, sponsored by Senator Todd Nash and Representative Bobby Levy, makes the first major updates in more than a decade to the Wolf Depredation Compensation and Financial Assistance Grant Program. The Oregon Department of Agriculture is beginning the process of updating the administrative rules to put this law into effect. ODA is seeking input from ranchers and others across the state through a series of listening sessions to help shape the future of the compensation program.
