Services - School Services

Our Programming and Outreach Policy is available here. If you have questions about any of our school services, please contact Assistant Director Jane Scheppke at 541-447-7978 ext. 316.

School Visits

Teachers, administrators and principals may schedule school visits for the upcoming year in August. Our goal is to make an all-school assembly visit to each school in Prineville and Powell Butte three times per year. We visit the schools in Paulina and Brothers every other week during the school year.

In addition to our regular visits, we can provide special storytimes, booktalks, or instruction sessions by request and as staffing levels permit.

Field Trips

Bring your class on a field trip to the library! We offer 30-minute field trip presentations for students of all ages. We try to schedule field trips on the 2nd & 4th Mondays of the month when possible.

Daycare and Preschool Outreach

Bring story time to your preschool or daycare! We provide 15-to-30 minute story time sessions to preschools and childcare centers in Prineville and Powell Butte. Depending on demand, visits can occur as frequently as every other week! Call us during the summer to schedule your visits.

Lesson Planning Support

We can help teachers find books, DVDs, websites, articles, and other materials to use in lesson plans. The sooner you contact us, the better! If we don't have what you're looking for, we can order it. We can also make sure we have plenty of books on the topic available in the library for your students.

We appreciate hearing from you when you've assigned a project to your students. If we have a copy of the assignment, we're better prepared to help them find the information they need.

Library Book Boxes

We have several Library Book Boxes full of picture books for preschools and childcare providers to check out for a month at a time. To sign up for the program, contact NeighborImpact Childcare Resources at 541-323-6530.
