Recycling Facts:

  • Every time you recycle a 40 inch stack of newspapers, you save the equivalent of one southern pine tree.
  • One pint of used motor oil can create a poisonous oil slick one acre in diameter.
  • If just ¼ of the United States households used 10 fewer plastic bags per month, 2.5 billion fewer bags would go into the landfills each year.
  • Recycling one ton of glass saves about nine gallons of fuel…recycling one glass bottle saves enough energy to light a 100 watt bulb for 4 hours.
