MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR:

Welcome to the Crook County Department of Public Health's website!  Whether you are a first-time visitor or a returning guest, you will find this site full of key resources available to you with just a click of the mouse!

The mission of our department states: "In partnership with the community we serve, the Crook County Public Health Department protects, promotes and enhances the health and well-being of all people and the environment in our county."  This means protecting you and your family from health threats such as food-borne illnesses, natural and man-made disasters, toxic exposures and preventable injury.  Public Health also works to prevent chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer and diabetes and the risk factors such as poor nutrition, inadequate physical activity and tobacco use that contribute to chronic disease.

As the Public Health Department, we aspire to help people gain perspective on the status and goals of Public Health so that we can guide them toward a healthy future.

Your Public Health Department is committed to being a helpful resource to every individual in the county and welcome your comments.

Have a wonderful day,

Muriel DeLaVergne-Brown, RNBS, GCPH

Public Health Director
