Addressing & Road Naming - Information

All Addresses and Road names for Crook County and the City of Prineville are issued by the Crook County Community Development Department. A site address is required by utility companies for services and also by Emergency Services to respond to an incident. 

NOTE: DO NOT INCLUDE ANY PRE-ASSIGNED ADDRESS ON ANY APPLICATIONS. CROOK COUNTY IS NOT LIABLE FOR THE USE OF A PRE-ASSIGNED ADDRESS.

AN ADDRESS WILL ONLY BE ASSIGNED AFTER THE REQUIREMENTS LISTED BELOW ARE SATISFIED:

• A COPY OF AN APPROVED SITE PLAN OR LAND USE DECISION
• IF INSIDE CITY LIMITS – INDICATE PROPOSED PRIMARY ENTRANCE (FRONT DOOR) OF BUILDING
• IF OUTSIDE CITY LIMITS – INDICATE PROPOSED ACCESS POINT (SHOWING DISTANCE FROM PROPERTY LINES) FROM A NAMED ROAD
• RECORDED MAP TAX LOT #
• PROPOSED CHANGES TO EXISTING PARCEL (i.e. Lot line adjustments, combining of lots…)
• PROPOSED USE OF NEW ADDRESS OR CHANGE OF ADDRESS
• APPROPRIATE FEES PAID (SEE APPLICATION FOR FEES)

THE ADDED OR CHANGED ADDRESS WILL THEN BE UPDATED IN APPROPRIATE DATA BASES AND NOTICES WILL BE SENT TO THE LOCAL POSTAL AUTHORITIES, E-9-1-1, AND LOCAL UTILITIES
